A ribbon cutting ceremony was held this morning at the new Hillview Middle School in Central Menlo Park. Students, parents and neighbors were delighted to see a beautiful and functional new campus with large and small courtyards. Highlights include a brand new and comfortable auditorium (the Hillview jazz band showed off the excellent acoustics), nine science class rooms and a modern library with an adjoining computer lab. Current enrollment is 860 students and classes are scheduled to begin after Labor Day. A special bonus for the neighbors is the return of the Tinker Playground which is scheduled to open in September. Nice job to all who made the new school possible!
