Emerald Lake Hills

West of the Alameda and north of Jefferson, the area known as Emerald Hills actually consists of two large subdivisions: Emerald Hills and Emerald Lake (even though there are two lakes). The area is also referred to as Emerald Lake or Emerald Hills. Some areas of this neighborhood have the feel of rustic La Honda, while other areas are slightly newer and more upscale. This area’s housing is just as diverse as the landscape, from the original tiny summer cabins built in the 1920’s to extravagant new construction, with just about everything imaginable in between.

Pre-war homes usually have some charm, while post-war homes vary widely in appeal. Lots can be large, but steep slopes can keep part of it from being completely usable. Many homes have spectacular views of the Peninsula. If you’re looking for something more bohemian without driving all the way up to Skyline, this is the spot.
